You should not use Foracort by Cipla (Generic Symbicort) if you are allergic to Budesonide or Formoterol (the active ingredients) or if you have any of these other conditions:
• heart disease or high blood pressure
• epilepsy or other seizure disorder
• herpes infection of the eyes
• any active infection
• an electrolyte imbalance (such as low potassium levels in your blood)
• a thyroid disorder
Do not use a second form of formoterol (such as Foradil and Performist) or use a similar inhaled bronchodilator such as salmeterol (Serevent and Advair) or arformoterol (Brovana) unless your doctor has told you to. Using a steroid can lower the blood cells that help your body fight infections. Avoid being near people who are sick or have infections. Call your doctor for preventive treatment if you are exposed to chicken pox or measles. These conditions can be serious or even fatal in people who are using steroid medicines.
